说 外语 难 吗? Is it difficult to speak a foreign language?
Shuō wàiyǔ nán ma?
Speak external-language difficult question? 学 外语 不 难。It is not difficult to learn a foreign language.
Xué wàiyǔ bù nán.
Study external-language not difficult. 说 汉语 很 难。Speaking Mandarin is very difficult.
Shuō Hànyǔ hěn nán.
Speak Han-language very difficult. 写 汉字 很 难。Writing Chinese is very difficult.
Xiě Hànzì hěn nán.
Write Han-characters very difficult. 说 英语 不 难。Speaking English is not difficult.

|Mandarin is a tone language--that is, different pitch patterns actually distinguish one word from another. Mandarin has no irregular verbs or noun plurals to learn, because words have only a single form.
